SAT Writing + Language / ACT English - The Ultimate Walkthrough
If you want a high SAT Writing + Language or ACT English score, you need to know all the most important grammar rules of the English language - but, MORE importantly - you also need to know how to APPLY those rules to these tests! If you have the right grammar, but you don't know the strategies and tactics, you'll often fall for tricks and run out of time. Conversely, even if you DON'T know every grammar rule, you can often find the right answer simply by following proper strategy!
The following video is a full walkthrough of my ENTIRE process for the SAT Writing + Language section - and because the New SAT is basically a carbon copy of the ACT, you can use these strategies for both tests with only minor alterations. This material used to be reserved exclusively for my private coaching students, but because I'm in a Santa-esque mood, I decided to share it with you all!

SAT Math: The Ultimate Guessing Trick
Переглядів 21 млн12 років тому
Please note: this trick works for the SAT and the ACT, and for any other multiple choice math test as well! Also, as a lot of you have pointed out in the comments, this problem isn't particularly tough - and you're right! I'm just using this problem as an example. This trick is NOT better than just solving the math problem on your own if you know how. It IS a lot better than randomly guessing -...
How to get a 920 on the sat 💀
But that's too easy💀
Am I missing the obvious thing, just plug the answers in the equation?
This is one of the easiest questions Here's a method a*a*a=a+a+a a³=3a a=root3a Dividing both by a Answer=root3
a^3 = 3a a^2 = 3 a^1 = sqrt(3) why do you need to guess the answer???
Strategy: 3/-3= 3/-3
I resolved that from my mind (i didnt used any paper) a³=3a (√3)³=3√3 3√3=3√3 Its B
√3*√3*√3=√3+√3+√3=3√3
Or could do x^3=3a x^3/a =3 x^2=3 x equals root 3 in 10 seconds
GUESSING??? bro this is like the easiest 7th grade question ever! I solved it in like half a second! waste of time and a dislike!
a³=3a a²=3 a=√3 simple 😂 5 second question 😂😂
a = ± sqrt(3)
@@diogenescinico ok right
is this patched yet-
Don’t complicate this problem. This math problem is combining like terms, exponential rules and factoring.
Bruh just plug each of them into a^3 = 3a and see which works, do you not know exponents? For option b you’ll notice that plugging in 3^(1/2) gives you 3^(3/2) on the left hand side and 3 * 3^(1/2) on the right hand side you can change the right hand side to look like the left hand side by adding the exponents 1 and 1/2 to get 3/2.
a better tip before even doing that is to look for anything that you are certain it will not equal and cross it out first
Bruh i as a class 11 student in his first month studing online got this in first 5 seconds lol (me indian) well I think if I fail I can go to just top SATS ig XD
Grammar is hard in SAT but manageable and I will prepare for it too but as part time thing 😅
It took me three milliseconds to get b) It is no trick but an instinct as an Indian.
It takes 20 sec to guess While it's just 2 sec to solve
ITS 3 GODDAMMIT
I actually noticed this quirk of SAT math questions. (a few years ago) And when I ran through a practice using this method, I got 22% correct 😐
a × a × a = a + a + a a³ = 3a a³ - 3a = 0 Factor "a" out a(a² - 3) = 0 Rewrite 3 as (√3)² a(a² - √3²) = 0 Difference of squares a² - b² = (a - b)(a + b) a(a - √3)(a + √3) = 0 So, a = 0 a - √3 = 0 →a = √3 a + √3 = 0 → a = -√3
a^3 =3a a^2 = 3 a = root 3
😑
this can be solved in less then a minute lol
Solving the problem was easier and faster
If you seriously need to guess an answer on this question, bro you’re pretty fu*ked 💀💀
options be like: a)3 b)-3 c)1/3 d)-1/3
I have questions posted for the math portion on my channel and new updates for the digital sat.
bro its just a^3 = 3a a^2 = 3 a = _/3
This took longer than just testing each of the answer choices lol
a * a * a = a + a + a a³=3a a³-3a = 0 [got a bit confused here] a(a²-3) = 0 Either a = 0 or a² - 3 = 0 a² = 3 a = √3 or a = -√3 So, either a = 0, a = √3 or a = -√3. Plotting x(x²-3)=y [taking a = x] on the graph has 3 points intersect on the x-axis, thus, showing that there are three zeroes, as I equated the expression to zero. From the options, a=√3. (Rate my solution, I am a nerd :3)
Or… hear me out… actually solve the problem?
0
B
(√3)^3 = √3*3? 3*√3 = √3*3
aaaaaaaa is the actual answer
If you are wondering, option "B" is the correct one (√3)
The answer is 0
the actual answer is the set {-sqrt(3),0,sqrt(3)}
This is a cubic equation that can be factorised to make a(a^2-3) =0 a=0 And tge tge quadratic and be solved by adding 3 and square rooting to make plus or minus sqrt of 3 and 0, there are 3 roots to this cubic
Bro which country do u live in
Meanwhile me solving the question in 3 microseconds and takin 19 seconds to mark the answer.
Plot twist: it was 9
a³=3a a²=3 a=root3 it doesnt take long to just calc this question, but yeha in other questions with the time pressure you just have to get the answer and go fast
Ok but is he right?
Fun fact: the correct answer is almost always the "second half" of the options because the teachers always wanting you to do more work than you want to
Not on the SAT. It's basically randomized.
Yeah unfortunately this only works in America where most tests are multiple choice. You can't guess between multiple options if there are none.
I dunno who told you this, nor why many non-Americans believe this
I saw tests like this in 1st grade
a.a.a = a+a+a a.a² = 3a (a.a²)/a = (3a)/a a² = 3 a = ±√3 Other answer could be 0, I technically shouldn't divide by a because of that, but since it's not on the alternatives, I think it's ok . And -√3 is not in the alternatives, so it's ok too, only is left the √3
For those who want to know how to actually do it: a x a x a = a +a + a, so a^3 = 3a a^3 - 3a = 0 a (a^2 - 3) = 0: this means that either a is 0 or a^2 - 3 is 0. Since 0 isn’t one of the options, a^2 - 3 = 0 a^2 = 3 a = +- sqrt 3 so the answer is B because there is no negative option.
New branch of mathematics discovered: Guess Theory
I did it in like 7 seconds
That's what i always do😅
